When it comes to wedding favors, you might think of a deck of cards, a koozie, a box of matches, or a succulent. Sure, these are all great, but many guests will leave them behind and you will be left with tens, if not hundreds of these items to sit in a box in your attic until you finally have the heart to throw them away.
One day I was scrolling through TikTok and heard the BEST idea for wedding favors! I know what you're thinking...TikTok?!? It is crazy how once the algorithm knows what you want to see, they show you amazing things that you would've never thought of!
Does your photographer offer a second shooter? If they do, take them up on this! Use this second shooter to give the best wedding favor of all time. Here's how it works...
Somewhere at your venue, have a designated area for families to take photos. Not some cheesy photo booth type area, but a nice backdrop or scenery. While you are off taking portraits during your cocktail hour or as guests arrive for the ceremony, have your second photographer take a professional photo of each family or couple that attends your wedding.
When your photographer delivers your album, send each one of the families and couples their edited photo for them to print as they please.
You can send these photos digitally, or if you want to take it a step further, and if you have the budget to do so, you could get the photos printed on a canvas or purchase a nice frame to put each photo in and send them to your guests with your thank you cards.
I thought this was such a good idea! It is rare anymore for an entire family to get dressed up and go out together, so doing this for your guests gives them an opportunity to have a nice family portrait taken, and you can use them as favors!
NOTE: Make sure you discuss this concept with your photographer BEFORE your wedding and they are okay with it. Do NOT ask them to do this on the wedding day, as they probably already have a plan for their second shooter! Also make sure they are okay with you sharing the photos with your guests for them to print.
